1. What is 3D Secure authentication?
3D Secure is a security feature for authenticating online transactions performed when using Credit/Debit Cards at 3D Secure enabled merchant websites. It provides an additional layer of security and protects cardholders and merchants from unauthorized online transactions.
“MasterCard SecureCode” and “Verified by Visa” are 3D secure authentications powered by MasterCard and Visa respectively.
Customers will be required to authenticate online transactions using a 6-digit One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent by the Bank to the customers’ mobile number registered with the bank, when making purchases or payments at 3D Secure enabled online merchants. The 3D Secure enabled online merchants display the “Verified by Visa” and/or “MasterCard SecureCode” logos on their payment pages.

How does 3D Secure work?
- Shop Online at any 3D Secure enabled online merchant site and checkout.
- Enter your JIB Card details during checkout.
- You will receive a 6-digit one-time password (OTP) on your mobile registered with the Bank.
- Enter the OTP in the authentication screen.
- Transaction will be completed after successful verification.
- After you have entered your OTP correctly, JIB will authenticate all details and following successful verification, the transaction will be authorized.
