Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) provided the main and exclusive sponsorship of Shura 7th Sharia Audit Conference, which was organized by Shura Sharia Consultancy (based in Kuwait) and held under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan In cooperation with Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and by support of Islamic Insurance Company. The conference was attended by experts from the Islamic banking industry and specialists in the field of Sharia auditing in financial institutions, academics, researchers and those interested in Islamic finance at Le Grand Hotel Amman during the period 16-18 / 10/2018. Mr. Musa Shihadeh General Manager of JIB delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference, in which he praised the patronage of the Central Bank of Jordan for the conference and Shura Consultancy that organized the conference, in cooperation with AAOIFI. He said that the bank’s exclusive sponsorship of the conference confirms the bank's keenness to attend conferences and meetings that contribute in the development and support of the Islamic banking process, whether juristic, legal, banking or other. This conference aims to strengthen the Sharia Supervisory Industry by meeting Islamic banking experts, specialists in the field of Sharia auditing in financial institutions, academics, researchers and those interested in Islamic finance, and presenting an important opportunity for them to learn about the reality and future of Sharia Auditing, its development and results in supporting the process of Sharia auditing in Islamic banking. He exposed the experience of the Islamic Bank of Jordan to deepen the legitimate commitment and the quality of governance. For his part, Mr. Hamad Al-Mazeed, the General Manager of Shura Consultancy, thanked Jordan Islamic Bank , one of the leading institutions in the Islamic financial industry, for supporting the conference, to contribute to achieving the objectives of the conference and the decisions and recommendations that will enrich the profession of Sharia auditing and contribute to raising its efficiency, monitoring its most important problems and propose appropriate solutions by reviewing the reality and future of Sharia auditing in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Moreover, the conference contributes to showing the importance of employing technology in developing the efficiency of the Sharia audit and highlighting the external Sharia auditing in light of the AAOIFI governance standard 6 and the Sharia auditing of the operations of the insurance companies and classification of the sharia risks in the Islamic banks.
