Jordan Islamic Bank provided the golden sponsor for the Ninth Jordanian International Mining Conference entitled “Future Prospects for Mining and Energy”, which was inaugurated by the delegate of His Royal Highness Prince El-Hassan bin Talal, Dr. Adnan Badran, the former Prime Minister, and organized by the Jordanian Engineers Association, the Department of Mines and Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering and Petroleum, and with the participation of researchers and specialists in the fields of mining, petroleum and geology from inside and outside Jordan.
CEO/General Manager of JIB, Dr. Hussein Said, said, “Based on the role of our bank in assuming its social responsibilities by strengthening its relations with civil society institutions, including Jordanian Engineers Association, where our bank continues to be present within its various activities aimed at supporting the national economy by providing support and sponsorship for conferences held by it and with its various engineering divisions, including this specialized conference, which aims to provide an opportunity for engineers, academics and researchers to meet, dialogue, and exchange knowledge and experiences to improve performance and serve the national and Arab economy.”
In the opening session of the conference, Dr. Adnan Badran handed over an honorary shield to Jordan Islamic Bank for sponsoring the conference. In the speeches delivered during the opening ceremony each of Eng. Ahmed Samara Al-Zoubi, the president of JEA and the President of the Union of Arab Engineers, and Eng. Samir Al-Sheikh the Head of the Division of Mines and Mining Engineering, Geological and Petroleum Engineering, Eng. Abdul Karim Qteishat Head the Preparatory Committee for the Conference, praised the Bank's support for the conference to achieve its goals and aspirations.
The conference, which was held during the period 1-2/2/2022 at the Conference Palace - Hilton Hotel - Dead Sea, dealt with several axes, including water, environment, mining and the obstacles it faces, future challenges and strategic projects for water, oil, gas and oil shale, geoengineering, health, safety and occupational environment, Climate changes, natural resources as an essential source of countries’ economy and optimum utilization of them, legislation and its impact on investment in the mining and energy sectors, and modern technologies such as software...etc.
