Jordan Islamic Bank provided the golden sponsor for the Sixth International Scientific Conference of Jordan Islamic scholars league entitled “Muslim Women in a Changing World” and in cooperation with Amman Arab University, Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sartawi and with the participation and attendance of scholars, university professors and researchers from various legal and academic disciplines from inside and outside Jordan, at Amman Arab University during the period 23-24 July 2022. In a speech he delivered during the opening of the conference, CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank Dr. Hussein Said praised the efforts made by the Jordan Islamic Scholars League in strengthening the role of scholars to find solutions to the issues and problems facing society and the economy by holding its scientific conferences aimed at serving the issues of the nation, Looking forward to this conference clarifying the balanced and moderate position of Islam on women's issues and rights, and correcting misconceptions, as the thorny and sensitive issues that affect women socially and economically are among the issues that are strongly raised at the present time. He added that Islam abolished the practice of many nations of depriving women of ownership and inheritance, or restricting them to dispose of what they own, and the tyranny of the husband with her money. So, it established for her the right of ownership in all its types and branches, and the right to dispose. it legislated the will and inheritance for her like men, and gave her the right to sell, buy, Ijarah, gift, lend, endowment, charity, guarantee and other contracts and works, and the right to defend her money by litigation and by legal means. Dr. Hussein Said affirmed the firm conviction of Jordan Islamic Bank that women have the right to financial independence, as well as the right to education, social and economic work, and to develop herself, her energies and capabilities. Therefore, it pays special attention to women, allowing them to benefit from all its banking services, credit facilities, all types of accounts, and issuing Banking cards, in addition to issuing specialized cards “such as the family card” or “the wife’s credit card.” Women are dealt with in financial affairs just as men are dealt with, in addition to including women in his job cadres. Training is provided to many female students in the bank’s branches, and they gain experience and knowledge. In appreciation of the role of women and their participation in the process of building society. Dr. Hussein Said indicated that based on Jordan Islamic Bank's shouldering of its social responsibilities towards various members of society, including women, and in order to enhance the scientific research process and the efforts of scientists in strengthening the system of social and economic stability, the support of this conference came as a continuation of support for the activities and conferences of the Jordan Scholars Association, which the Bank has been supporting, stressing his pride in the partnership with association. For his part, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sartawi, the sponsor of the conference, handed an honorary shield to Dr. Hussein Said in appreciation of his role in contributing to supporting the march of the Jordan Scholars Association and for the sponsorship and support of Jordan Islamic Bank for the conference and the association’s activities. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Saifi, President of the Jordan Islamic scholars league, Dr. Fayza Al-Sukkar, President of the Conference, and Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Wareikat, Head of the Scientific and Preparatory Committee for the Conference, also gave thanks and appreciation to the Bank.
