Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) has provided the support as a strategic partner for the workshop on financial engineering and product development for Islamic financial institutions (IFIs), held by the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI). The workshop was hosted by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and attended by a group of bankers, economists and professionals with expertise in Islamic banks and financial institutions in the field of product development, risk management, finance and the Legal management and was held at the Institute of Banking Studies during the period 17-19 / 9/2018. The workshop included presenting and analyzing the concept of financial product development and providing professionals in Islamic banks and financial institutions with the necessary technical skills and knowledge that will enable them to effectively develop products in their institutions and to understand mechanisms, processes and constraints related to product development. In a welcoming speech by Mr. Musa Shihadeh, General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, during the opening ceremony, he welcomed the participants in the workshop and expressed his pride in the continuity of the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions to hold workshops and conferences of the CIBAFI in Jordan and the bank’s sponsorship of these conferences for their importance in opening the horizons of dialogue and exchange of professional experience, in addition to view theoretical and practical case studies and participate in scientific applications to develop the financial products of Islamic financial institutions. He stressed the Bank's keenness to be present in these meetings, which emphasizes the bank's responsibility for its social responsibilities through supporting various activities that support the Islamic banking process. For his part, Mr. Abdelilah Belatik, Secretary General of CIBAFI, commended the Central Bank of Jordan for hosting the workshop , the Institute of Banking Studies for agreeing to hold the workshop in its offices and Jordan Islamic Bank for sponsoring the workshop and for its strategic and sustainable partnership with the CIBAFI to achieve its strategic objectives through supporting policies and regulatory systems, research and publications, awareness-raising, information exchange and support for professional development.
