Jordan Islamic Bank contributed to supporting the financial awareness campaigns “Towards a Financially Educated Youth” as part of the activities implemented by the Central Bank of Jordan and in cooperation with Jordanian banks on the occasion of the Arab Financial Inclusion Day under the slogan “The Importance of Social Responsibility for Financial and Banking Institutions in Promoting Financial Inclusion” in order to enhance culture and financial awareness among the youth category, with the aim of improving financial inclusion in the Kingdom, raising access rates for all segments of society, especially the youth category, and benefiting from Islamic financial and banking services.
On this occasion, CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, Dr. Hussein Said, said our bank’s participation in these campaigns comes within the framework of intensifying its supportive efforts as a major partner for the banking awareness campaigns and initiatives launched by the Central Bank of Jordan continuously and in order to consolidate the bonds of partnership supporting the national strategy for financial inclusion and moving the wheel of the economy and financial stability, emphasizing our bank’s keenness on social responsibility through the promotion and dissemination of Islamic financial culture among the various segments of society and raising awareness among the youth category, which is considered the most numerous in the Kingdom and is about to enter the labor market and form families, and is the most in need of obtaining Islamic credit and banking products, and introducing them to the tools various electronic payments and enhance the importance of sound financial planning.
The Bank’s contribution was represented in providing prizes consisting of ten savings accounts for Jordanian university students who obtained high results in the financial culture test (electronic questionnaire) to assess the effectiveness of financial educational sessions and measure the extent to which students benefit before and after the sessions, and encourage them to use banking services and products, and that's after they're acquiring the necessary financial culture, note that this campaign was held at Tafila Technical University, Al-Balqa Applied University (Aqaba University College and Amman University College for Financial and Administrative Sciences) and Ajloun National University.
