JIB reaps Excellence Award in Social Responsibility for Islamic Banks 2017

Jordan Islamic Bank has reaped the award of the financial institution committed to social responsibility among Islamic banks for 2017 ( Commitment ) from the Regional Network  for Social Responsibility, a member of the United Nations Global Compact after a practical review of the bank’s distinguished contributions and achievements in the field of social responsibility within Islamic banks sector in Arab region. Mr. Adnan Yousif , Chairman of Association of Banks in Bahrain , CEO of Albaraka Banking Group (ABG) handed Mr. Musa Shihadeh , CEO – General Manager of JIB an honorary shield with the presence of Dr. Hashem Hussein , International Ambassador for Social Responsibility in the Regional Network for Social Responsibility as part of the honoring ceremony of the Islamic banks with the greatest impact on the initiatives of social responsibility in the Arab regionwhich was held in Bahrain with participation of Arab bankers and specialists in social responsibility during the conference of social responsibility for Islamic banks 2017 tilted “ Islamic Banks’ Commitments towards Beneficiaries” on 30-31/7/2017 where experience and practices of social responsibilities in Islamic banks and the requirements for their success were presented in addition to their role in meeting the social needs and professional standards followed  to apply them. Moreover, a short film about JIB’s achievements in social responsibility was shown. Mr. Adnan Yousif said JIB deserved this prestigious award with all due merit for its outstanding practices in the area of social responsibility in its various fields, to present a distinctive model among the Islamic banks that deserves recognition and highlight their achievements. We are proud of all Islamic banks for achieving outstanding achievements and hoping that all Islamic banks will obtain outstanding awards always. Mr. Shihadeh expressed his pleasure of the bank's receipt of this award, which is added to the other awards in the field of social responsibility, in recognition of the Bank's ability to continue its excellence in the field of social responsibility as well as excellence of its banking performance , accomplishments achieved and its experience in various roles .The success of the bank's mission is based on the commitment of the values ​​of the Islamic approach in dealing with everyone in accordance with the provisions and principles of Islamic Shari'a, asserting its interest to make more efforts , putting the bank's experience in social responsibility before everyone to be an example of other Islamic banking institutions. It is worth noting that the Jordan Islamic Bank has won several international awards this year, including the Social and Environmental Responsibility Award of 2017 from the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, which is granted for the first time.
