Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB), in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, organized a training course on the fundamentals of Islamic banks' business for a group of imams and preachers in Zarqa governorate. The training course was inaugurated by the representative of His Excellency the Minister of Awqaf, the Advisor, Mr. Hassan Karira at the training academy of the bank in Rusayfah. In a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Hussein Said, Deputy General Manager of JIB, he commended the joint cooperation between the Bank and the Ministry to activate the practical role of imams, preachers and employees of the Ministry of Awqaf through training courses to inform them of practical applications in Islamic financial transactions, in terms of legality, jurisprudence and law In order to meet the inquiries about Islamic financial transactions and the need of the community to qualified specialists in this field. He stressed the Bank's readiness to provide more staff of the Ministry with various developments in accordance with the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia, whether in the jurisprudence or legal or Islamic financial transactions as a practical application of the role of the bank in carrying out its social responsibilities by contributing to the dissemination of Islamic banking culture and the advancement of industry, and its importance in promoting the economy and society. For his part, the Advisor of the Minister of Awqaf, Mr. Hassan Karira, expressed his thanks for the cooperation between Jordan Islamic Bank and the Ministry of Awqaf. He also praised Jordan's keenness to implement the Sharia ruling on banking transactions by providing the Islamic banking business. He stressed the need for cooperation between Awqaf and the Bank to repeat these courses, which benefit sharia specialists.
