Jordan Islamic Bank sponsored the twenty-first scientific day “al- waqf and sustainable development” organized by Islamic Studies & Research Association and in cooperation with the Jordanian Society for the Miracles of the Qur’an and Sunnah and Al-Afaf Charitable Association, with the participation of a group of scholars, academics, researchers and specialists from a number of official and civil institutions and local, Arab and international universities, and under the auspices of His Excellency Al- Haj Hamdi Al-Tabbaa, President of Al-Afaf Charitable Association, and at the headquarters of Islamic Studies & Research Association, on Saturday 20/11/2021.
CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, Dr. Hussein Said, said, “Our bank continues to participate in sponsoring the days and scientific activities supervised by official institutions and local community bodies, which contribute to our bank’s shouldering of its social responsibilities by promoting sustainable development and building society, and given the importance of al alwaqfia properties in Jordan and its role in promoting sustainable development and achieving social stability in various fields and benefiting from the experiences of different countries of the world in these areas, our bank’s contribution came in sponsoring this scientific day.”
For his part, His Excellency Al-Hajj Hamdi Al-Tabbaa, president of Al-Afaf Charitable Association, thanked Jordan Islamic Bank for its sponsorship and support for the scientific day and its active role in supporting activities that contribute to building the human being and institutions working in the service of society, and stressed the importance of continuing communication between the institutions based on this meeting and other official institutions, civil and media institutions to follow up the outputs and build on them for the benefit of the nation and its institutions.
At the end of the scientific day, the participants recommended the need to spread the culture of al-waqf and to explain its importance and role in the renaissance of the nation, in addition to developing the legislative basis for al-waqf and making maximum use of alwaqfiaat and the method of investing them and encouraging their increase and the multiplicity of their purposes. Where the working papers and scientific research presented by the participants were reviewed and dealt with AL- waqf issues, achieving sustainable development and employing AL- waqf to achieve development and social stability, and reviewing successful models of AL- waqf and sustainable development from Morocco, Turkey and Malaysia. A workshop was also held on transforming the results of the scientific day into plans and implementations for the development and sustainability of aL- waqf industry.
