Jordan Islamic Bank participated in the sponsorship of the Union of Arab Banks Forum "Compliance with International Standards in the specialization of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing - Future and Challenges", which was held under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, Dr. Adel Sharkas, organized by the Union of Arab Banks and in cooperation with the Association of Banks in Jordan and with the participation of Jordanian banks, bankers, officials and experts specialized in the field of combating money laundering and terrorism financing at the Arab and international levels, during the period 15-16 August 2022 at the Intercontinental Hotel - Amman. On this occasion, Dr. Hussein Said said, “We welcome the convening of the Union of Arab Banks for its annual forums in Jordan and this is an affirmation of the depth of the relationship that unites Jordan with the Union of Arab Banks and its keenness on the success of its course and its fruitful and joint cooperation, which benefits the Jordanian and Arab banking sector, including this forum, which aims to raise the efficiency of the Arab banking system to keep pace with global developments in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing and complying with standards international law governing this mechanism. Dr. Hussein Said also indicated that Jordan Islamic Bank, through its participation in these forums, affirms its commitment to its social responsibilities in the economic field and advances the development wheel in Jordan. Dr. Adel Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, also handed an honorary shield to Dr. Hussein Said, CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, in appreciation of the bank's sponsorship of the conference. For his part, Mr. Wissam Fattouh, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Banks, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the participation of Jordan Islamic Bank in supporting the forum, which is an important occasion for strengthening good relations with the Arab financial banking community and with regional and international bodies and institutions, appreciating the bank's interest in the continuity of sponsoring and supporting the activities of the Union of Arab Banks.
