Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) held a lecture on banking transactions in JIB at Al Bayt University with an invitation of the High Institute for Islamic Studies and Sharia Faculty in the University.
Mr. Musa Shihadeh, GM of JIB said our bank seeks to hold these meetings which aim to disseminate Islamic banking culture among university students and to associate the theoretical aspects with the practical ones and make a room for students to recognize the nature of Islamic banks business and JIB’s experience.
Vice President of the University , Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh , Dean of Faculty of Sharia , Dr. Ali Rawahneh and members of faculties attended the lecture with participation of nearly 150 students, where Dr. Fouad Abdu, Manager of Large Corporate Department of the bank participated in the lecture and Dr. Orua Dweiri, scholar of sharia Faculty managed it on 27/11/2017.
However, the students’ raised questions regarding JIB’s experience in Islamic banking transactions such as providing financing through Islamic investment instruments and ensure security for depositors , innovate investment modes that do not contradict with provisions of Islamic Sharia, where the bank has a Sharia Supervisory Board that supervises all banking transactions of the bank. Moreover, the bank’s social role and its importance in reinforcing ethical and spiritual values was exposed in addition to the fruitful cooperation with many academic institutions in Jordan and training more than 17 thousand students on Islamic banking transactions.
