Musa Shihadeh Chairman of the Board of JIB and Hussain Saeed General Manager

                          Dr.Hussain Saeed                           Mr.Musa Shihadeh            General Manager                                 Chairman          Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) announced the election of His Excellency Mr. Musa Abdul Aziz Shihadeh as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jordan Islamic Bank. In accordance with the Banking Law and the Corporate Governance Provisions that prevent the joining of the Board of Directors and the Director General, HE Mr. Musa Shihadeh resigned as Chief Executive Officer / General Manager on Tuesday 30/4/2019, and the appointment of His Excellency Dr. Hussein Saeed Saifan, Chief Executive Officer / General Manager of the Bank as of Wednesday morning 1/5/2019, who was Deputy General Manager / Jordan Islamic Bank during the Board meeting held on 28/4/2019. On this occasion, Mr. Shihadeh expressed his pride in the great confidence that the Board of Directors has given him to continue to implement the Bank's strategy and mission and to strengthen the partnership between the Board of Directors and the Executive Management to keep pace with the development of Jordan Islamic Bank, the Jordanian banking sector and to achieve the aspirations of the shareholders, customers and employees of the Bank and those who believe in its thought, its work, its supporters and its employees, so that the Bank remains at the forefront. Mr. Shihadeh has extensive experience in conventional and Islamic banking and has served as CEO / General Manager and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Bank. He is a Chairman, Board Member and Board of Directors of a number of industrial, financial, educational, technical and insurance companies in Jordan. He is a member of several committees and associations of investment, social, humanitarian and international. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks since 1983 and Vice-President of the Association for the period 1997-2005 and then Vice-President of the Association for a new period from 25/2/2015 until 10/10/2015 and then the Chairman of the Association as of 11/10/2015 until 26/3/2018. For his part, Dr. Hussein Saeed commended the decision of the Board of Directors to take over the position of Chief Executive Officer / General Manager of JIB. He affirmed his commitment to follow the Bank's approach to enhance the role of Islamic banking in serving the national economy and the local community. Dr. Hussain Saeed holds a PhD in Islamic banking and has extensive experience in Islamic banking for 32 years, during which he held various managerial positions, most recently as Deputy General Manager / Jordan Islamic Bank.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of industrial, financial, educational, technical and insurance companies in Jordan and a member of the Board of Directors of Al Baraka Bank Lebanon, Finance and Development Bank / Morocco and a member of the Accounting and Auditing Board of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions, Member of the Board of Directors of the Securities Depository Center and member of the Board of Directors of the Hajj Fund, Member of the Jordanian Awqaf Council, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajloun University National private sector. Dr. Hussain has a special interest in academic and training issues. He has been a part-time lecturer and has participated in the discussion of several Master's and PhD's in Jordanian universities. He has also designed and implemented several training programs in the field of Islamic banking operations and accounting in many countries.
