Jordan Islamic Bank participated in supporting the Forum of Union of Arab Banks entitled "Governance, Risks and Compliance", which was held under the auspices of Dr. Adel Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan and organized by Union of Arab Banks and in cooperation with Association of Banks in Jordan and with the participation of Jordanian banks, bankers, officials and experts specialized in the field of governance, risk and compliance From various Arab countries, and during the opening ceremony of the forum, Dr. Hussein Said, CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, received an honorary shield in appreciation of the bank’s participation in sponsoring the forum, on 19/6/2023 at the Intercontinental Hotel - Amman.
On this occasion, Dr. Hussein Said, Chief Executive Officer / General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, said, "We are proud of the appreciation of the Central Bank of Jordan and Union of Arab Banks to our bank, which seeks, through its participation and sponsorship of this conference, to confirm its carrying out its social responsibilities in the economic field and moving the wheel of development. Our bank has always sponsored the forums of the Union of Arab banks that are held in Jordan annually and follow up on the various developments that are reflected in the work and performance of Arab banks.
Dr. Hussein Said indicated that the axes and topics of the forum are important for promoting a culture of good governance in the banking business, and transforming it into firm rules by establishing the methodology of accountability, transparency, and defining authority and responsibility, through a review of the rules and principles that regulate the concepts of "governance, risk and compliance" and how to apply them, which are reflected in safety of the national economy.
For his part, Mr. Wissam Fattouh, Secretary General of Union of Arab Banks, thanked Jordan Islamic Bank for continuously supporting the activities of Union of Arab Banks aimed at strengthening the bonds of relations between Arab banks and their development, praising the bank's efforts in sponsoring and participating in the forum.
