JIB is an Exclusive Sponsor of the 3rd Economic Forum

Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) provided its exclusive sponsorship for the third economic forum titled “ The Legal and Corporate Requirements for Anti – Money Laundering “, organized by Tamkeen for Administrative and Technical Development , under the patronage of the CBJ’s  Deputy Governor Dr. Adel Sharkas on behalf of H.E Dr Ziad Fariz , with a participation of elite of bankers, insurance companies and exchange , governmental financial institutions, supervisory organizations, specialists, researchers and academics. Mr. .Musa Shihadeh, CEO , General Manager of JIB said we welcome these specialized meetings which our bank seek to sponsor and participate in in confirmation of  assuming its social responsibilities by supporting scientific conferences which deal with significant topics regarding the banking sector including money laundering, its concept, its goals from legal, corporate and Sharia perspective and how to confront it. Shihadeh extended his appreciation of the Central Bank of Jordan ( CBJ ) for the sponsorship of these meetings which contribute to support the Jordanian banking system and other related institutions to maintain and support national economy. A group of JIB’s employees participated in the forum’s sessions and Mr. Mohammad Jaber, Legal consultant of JIB presented  a worksheet  about the legal responsibility  of financial  and banking institutions for anti- money laundering , indicating JIB’s role in anti- money laundering that is considered one of the pioneering Jordanian banks which combat this phenomenon and has no violation with regard to this issue for its commitment to the instructions and systems related to anti money laundering in addition to the presence of a compliance department specialized in the follow up of all matters regarding money laundering. Mr. Ghassan Al-Talib , Director of Tamkeen  for Administrative and Technical Development extended his thanks and appreciation of JIB for its continuation to support and sponsor economic forums organized by Tamkeen , commending the bank’s distinguished role in serving national economy and presenting a vivid example of the successful Islamic banking through its pioneering experience and the achievement of an outstanding position among Jordanian and Islamic banks. Dr Adel Sharkas handed JIB an honorary shield in appreciation of its support and sponsor of this forum in addition to other participating institutions.
